Overview
The state party
The South Carolina Democratic Party is the statewide organization of the Democratic Party in South Carolina. It works with the party’s 46 county parties, its caucuses and councils, and its elected officers to register voters, support candidates and organize year-round.
Day-to-day operations are carried out by staff; the party is led by an elected Chair.
Headquarters
The Don & Carol Fowler Center
SCDP's permanent headquarters in downtown Columbia. Supporters can be part of the building through engraved bricks and tiles on the walkway and the Founding Builders Circle plaque.
1929 Gadsden Street, Columbia, SC 29201
Roadmap
Project Roadmap
SCDP publishes a “Project Roadmap” on its website. This prototype links to it rather than summarizing its contents, so the party’s own wording stays authoritative.
History
The party’s story
Full history to be supplied by SCDP
We have not written a history of the party, and we will not guess at one. Founding dates, milestones and achievements need to come from SCDP so each can be checked before it is published.
